The family of Archie Battersbee has filed an urgent appeal to the Supreme Court following a 12pm deadline on withdrawing life-support.

Barts Health NHS Trust lawyers have brutally told Archie's family that he cannot be moved to a hospice and that if an application to the ECHR is not received by 9am life-support will be withdrawn at 11am.

This afternoon, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, the Rt. Hon Steve Barclay, has intervened in the case of 12-year-old Archie Battersbee calling on the families’ urgent permission to appeal to the Supreme Court to be refused.

Today (August 1) the Court of Appeal will hold an urgent online hearing at 11am following interventions from the government and the UN in the case of Archie Battersbee.
