The parents of Archie Battersbee have made a last-ditch application to the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons With Disabilities (UNRPD) following the refusal of the UK’s Supreme Court to intervene in the case yesterday (28 July).

This afternoon, the United Nations UN Committee on the Rights of Persons With Disabilities (UN CRPD) has issued an injunction stating that the UK government must keep 12-year-old Archie Battersbee alive while the committee considers the case.

The Supreme Court has refused to allow Archie Battersbee's parents more time to take their legal case to the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons With Disabilities.

The family of Archie Battersbee will file an urgent application to the Supreme Court after the Court of Appeal controversially prevented them for taking their case to the United Nations. 

Today (25 July) the Court of Appeal has refused Archie Battersbee's family permission to appeal a High Court judgment that ruled that the 12-year-old's life-support should be withdrawn against their wishes.
