**This legal seminar, scheduled for Monday 19 May, has been postponed until the autumn. This is due to a legal case involving some of the participating lawyers being unexpectedly scheduled for the same date.**

We’re excited to launch a new series of legal seminars focusing on assisted suicide, freedom of speech and transparency.

Join us on Monday 19 May as we delve into transparency in the Courts and why justice must be done in the light.

In a landmark judgment delivered this April, the Supreme Court has severely curtailed the secretive practices of the Family Division judges in cases involving withdrawal of life-saving treatment from critically ill children. Following a seven-years-long legal battle involving two families supported by the Christian Legal Centre, Rashid and Aliya Abbasi and Lanre Haastrup, the injunctions which prevented the families from telling their stories have now been discharged.

Families involved in end of life cases are often prevented from raising awareness about their loved one’s condition by transparency orders. This seminar looks at the impact of these orders on those families, exploring the case for real transparency in these cases.

Tickets cost only £10 and include drinks and nibbles.

While these events are primarily aimed at legal professionals, they are open to all.
