‘Penalised for being a Christian’

11 October 2019

West End actress Seyi Omooba lost her role as Celie in the musical, ‘The Color Purple’, when a Facebook post she had written over four years earlier was dug out and labelled ‘hypocritical’.

The post cited what the Bible says about homosexuality, the need for repentance and God’s love for all humanity. Speaking to BBC World Service, Seyi explains why she sticks by her Facebook post and says that Christians have a lot less freedom to speak openly about their faith.
