“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6).

As Christians, we believe in a God who is sovereign over all things and knows what we need before we ask. And yet He gives us the gift of prayer so that we can reflect on His goodness and faithfulness during our times of need. It is clear that our nation is in great need at this time, which is why Ian Christensen of New Life Church Wembley is calling for all believers across the UK to unite in prayer for 1 hour on Friday 22 January.

This Day of Prayer is being endorsed by Christian Concern and David Hathaway, amongst others. It is incredibly simple to take part – access to the internet or other technology is not even required. Whether on your own or with your family, spend some time presenting your requests before God with the certainty that He hears all our prayers and that they can impact the world around us. Please do take this opportunity to join with other believers from all denominations across the UK to pray to a God who does immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.

Join us at 1pm today on Facebook and YouTube as we unite to pray for our nation. We will be joined by Christian leaders and campaigners including David Hathaway (Eurovision), Pastor Thabo Marais (CRC London Church), Aisling Goodison and Ruth Rawlins (CBRUK), Andrea Williams, Steve Beegoo and Pastor Ade Omooba MBE.
