‘I thought ‘becoming a woman’ would make me happy – it didn’t’

Pete Benjamin lived for seven years as a transgender woman, undergoing an irreversible operation to remove his genitalia.

Here, he tells his story of what it’s really like being transgender, how it led to deeper depression and suicidal thoughts. But after suffering a nervous breakdown in 2017, Pete turned to help from his local church and is now living as the man God designed him to be.
