Mike Overd has been vindicated in multiple criminal cases after being arrested while street preaching.

Avon and Somerset Police sought a highly restrictive injunction against Christian street preacher Mike Overd, who has been arrested several times while preaching in public places. Nearly all of the restrictions asked for were rejected – the only meaningful limitation being Mike would not be allowed to use amplification.

In July 2016, Mike was arrested while preaching in a Bristol shopping area and responding to questions, objections and abuse. Video evidence shows Mike being forcibly removed from the area by a police officer. He was convicted of a public order offence over the incident which was later overturned at an appeal hearing.

Mike says, “My motivation for preaching the gospel is my love for Jesus Christ and my deep concern for people who do not know His great love and are heading towards an eternity separated from God.”
