Unwanted same-sex feelings and the question of scientific integrity

Printer-friendly version

Core Issues Trust (CIT) has produced an electronic version of its challenging research paper which examines what science says - or does not say - about providing therapeutic support for people who are seeking to move away from a homosexual lifestyle.

Core, based in Belfast, says ideology currently prevents the licensing of therapists who can help people who want to reduce their unwanted same-sex attraction.  It warns that legislative proposals are being pursued to make the counselling of individuals who do not want to live in a same-sex relationship, a criminal offence.

“This is a critical issue of freedom for men and women to seek help to live the lives they freely choose to live,” says Dr Mike Davidson, Director of CIT.

Copies of the paper have been sent to all Anglican Bishops in England and Ireland.
