Pope backs 'conscientious objection'

Printer-friendly version

During his recent trip to the US, Pope Francis visited Kim Davis, the Kentucky official who went to jail for resisting pressure to issue same-sex 'marriage' licences, it has been revealed.

The meeting is a big encouragement to Americans who are concerned about increasing threats to Christian freedoms. When asked whether he supports individuals who acted in the same way as Davis, the Pope said that "conscientious objection is a right that is a part of every human right."
