'Named person' battle continues

Printer-friendly version

The challenge to Scotland's controversial 'named person' scheme has been rejected by the Court of Session.

The scheme undermines parents by allowing an assigned 'named person', such as a teacher, to make decisions about the welfare of those under 18. The group behind the challenge, No to Named Persons (NO2NP), has said it will take its case to the Supreme Court and even to Europe if necessary. The policy has already been rolled out in parts of Scotland.
