Danger of 'extremist disruption orders'

A new counter-terrorism Bill, which includes proposals to introduce ‘extremist disruption orders’, was announced in the Queen’s Speech on Wednesday (27 May).

Home Secretary Theresa May, says that the Bill is aimed at tackling Islamic extremism. However, Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali has warned that the proposals could be used to 'target' Christians who articulate biblical teaching on contentious issues, such as the sanctity of life, marriage and the family.
