Government ignores statutory Sex Ed call

Printer-friendly version

The Government has ignored calls to make Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PSHE) a statutory subject.

However, in a response to a Select Committee report published before the election, Education Secretary Nicky Morgan said that "PSHE is not yet good enough in many schools" and that she will "examine all options" to ensure that it is "taught well everywhere". Education Select Committee chair, Neil Carmichael MP, called the response "feeble".
