Opening of National Sperm Bank reinforces further dismantling of the natural family

Printer-friendly version

The Department of Health has contributed £77,000 to the creation of a 'National Sperm Bank' in Birmingham, following concerns over the increasing reliance on sperm donors from overseas.

Figures published yesterday reveal that of women undergoing fertility treatment with donated eggs or sperm, 21% are in a same-sex relationship and 15% are single.

Commenting on the opening of the sperm bank, Andrea Williams told BBC News at One, that moves in this direction constitute "the approval of the breaking of the natural family."
